Djuna Watt Bennett
owner/certified Pilates instructor through both NY Guild and Power Pilates/physical therapist has been teaching Pilates for 8 years. In addition, she has been practicing physical therapy for 26 years. Two years ago she joined forces with her mentor, friend, teacher trainer and owner of House of Pilates Irvine. She changed the name of the studio to House of Pilates Newport Beach. The studio then became a participating training center where apprentices in the certification program can log some of their required hours observing and teaching. Djuna feels strongly that Pilates is a much more holistic and effective approach to healing injuries sustained through activities of daily living or work related injuries than other treatments in traditional settings. The success of Pilates in addressing these issues stems from Joseph Pilates belief that a strong core supports the pelvis and spine and allows the extremities to perform activities with less chance of injury.
Katherine Slay
Katherine has been teaching Pilates since 2004. She received her first Pilates certification through Body Arts and Science International with Rael Isacowitz, M.A. Three years later, she enrolled in the Power Pilates Beginner Mat weekend and was hooked. She instantly fell in love with the Power Pilates family. She found her “home” and completed the Power Pilates Bridge Comprehensive program in January of 2008.
Katherine is thrilled to have recently been chosen to be the next Teacher of Teachers for Power Pilates in Orange County, working with her mentor, Lisamay Scott. She loves the relationship and interaction that comes with clients and looks forward to developing her own mentorships with new and upcoming Power Pilates teachers.
